After a bike crash

Get medical care first. Ask for the crash report number. Photograph the bike, the damage, the lane or door zone, and your injuries. Get the driver’s insurance and any witness names.

Do not give a recorded statement to the other driver’s insurer before you talk with a lawyer. If you have a Florida auto policy, PIP may still apply to a bicycle crash. Florida PIP generally requires initial treatment within 14 days. Most injury lawsuits now have to be filed within two years.
