On August 30, 2026, Local 10 reported a Porsche with two people inside hit a pole around 2:15 p.m. on Southwest 168th Street. One person died at the scene. The other was taken to Jackson North in critical condition. Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide is investigating. The cause has not been released.
Crashes into a pole are some of the hardest on a car. The pole does not move, so the vehicle takes the force. Florida looks at speed, the road, and the car when someone dies. Local 10 said the cause of this crash, including whether speed was a factor, is still under investigation.
