Multi-Vehicle Crash at NW 36th and 87th in Doral

On September 25, 2026, CBS Miami, WSVN, NBC 6, the Miami Herald, and Local 10 reported a multi-vehicle crash at Northwest 36th Street and Northwest 87th Avenue in Doral. CBS put the time at about 10:58 a.m.; other outlets described the crash shortly before or around 11 a.m. CBS noted the location across from Trump National Doral.

Outlet counts of the vehicles involved varied: CBS reported seven vehicles, WSVN reported five, and NBC 6 and the Miami Herald described about six. Aerial and scene coverage showed a red GMC pickup resting on or over a crushed white car, with other vehicles piled behind. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said about 17 to 18 units responded. Firefighters used the jaws of life to extricate a patient trapped inside a vehicle. Officials said six people were involved: four were assessed and released at the scene, one was airlifted, and one was taken by ground ambulance. Authorities later confirmed that one of the people taken to a hospital died. Another person remained hospitalized. Officials did not immediately name the person who died.

Early public accounts of how the crash started conflicted, and investigators have not released a final cause. CBS reported that a vehicle traveling southbound entered the northbound lanes and struck stopped traffic. WSVN reported that the driver of the red GMC may have had a medical emergency involving the heart before losing control through the intersection. NBC 6 reported that some witnesses described the red GMC running a red light and crossing into the opposite lanes. CBS said the City of Doral Police Department is leading the investigation with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit assisting. WSVN and NBC 6 also reported that traffic homicide detectives are investigating. Northwest 87th Avenue and 36th Street were closed for hours and reopened Friday afternoon. The crash remains under investigation.
